CS12 JTC

Tractors Singapore is proud to be a partner in Singapore’s first pilot project for autonomous heavy construction equipment at the Bulim Autonomous Yard (BAY) @ Jurong Innovation District.

As part of this pilot, a Cat® CS12 Vibratory Soil Compactor was retrofitted with sensors and technologies by Kajima Corporation to validate how autonomous machines can ease Singapore’s construction manpower constraints and improve safety.

This trial sees the compactor working in unison with excavators under real site conditions. Autonomous bulldozers and dump trucks may be introduced in 2027 to form a coordinated fleet. This project is aligned with JTC’s mandate of the use of robotics in construction tenders for higher productivity since 2025. When proven successful, autonomous heavy construction equipment could be deployed across suitable projects and wider industry adoption.

From the Cat Command Station to autonomy, Tractors Singapore continues to track and support the technologies shaping how Singapore builds. We are excited to be part of the developments in this space.
